Dance Classes

Dancing is a means by which we express the traditions, customs and folklore of a people. In this class, you will learn the traditional bomba and plena dances of Puerto and Caribbean African roots along with the oral history that is linked to the mixture of three predominate cultures; Taino Indian, African, and European. Bomba incorporates drums, dancing and singing.

The class is taught by experienced teacher, Amy Nazano of Santurce, Puerto Rico who has 30 years teaching dance theater.

The main goal of the class is to expose, promote and preserve the Puerto Rican culture in the state of Oklahoma. Students will learn Puerto Rican music by learning dancing routines of Puerto Rican folkloric dances and from the Caribbean.

You will find this to be a fun class with friendly people who are all heart and soul.
